Indian cricket team fan group Bharat Army trolled England’s Barmy Army after the Joe Root-led side was thumped by 275 runs by Australia in the second Test in Adelaide of Ashes 2021-22.

After thumping England by 9 wickets in the first Test of Ashes 2021-22 in Gabba, Australia was all over the visitors in Adelaide as well as England looked out of sorts with the pink ball under lights.

Australia managed 473/9d in the first innings with David Warner and stand-in captain Steve Smith making scores in 90s and Marnus Labuschagne making a century. Much was expected from England batting as the opposition was missing Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood.

But apart from Dawid Malan (80) and Joe Root (62), none of the batters did much as the visitors crumbled to 236. Australia batted again and made 230/9d with Labuschagne making a fifty.

England tasked with chasing 468 to win the match or play out the remaining overs, couldn't do anything and was bowled out for 192 and lost by 275 runs, with Jhye Richardson taking a fifer.

As England suffered two one-sided defeats in the first two Tests of Ashes 2021-22, India’s fan group Bharat Army took a jibe at Barmy Army, who’s known as the 12th man of the England cricket team.

The Indian fan base while sympathising Barmy Army highlighted that it’s not easy to win in Australia as Team India made during their last two trips Down Under.

#AUSvEND @TheBarmyArmy, we are here for you. It’s not easy winning in Australia…,” Bharat Army Tweeted.

Notably, India scripted history as they registered back-to-back Test series wins in Australia. The Virat Kohli-led side first thumped hosts in 2018-19 and then followed it with a sensational 2-1 series win in 2020-21 under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane.

With three Tests remaining in the Ashes 2021-22, it remains to be seen if England can stage a comeback or not. The third Test match of the series will begin on 26th December at MCG.
