India's spinner R Ashwin picked former India captain, MS Dhoni, as the best wicket-keeper and called him 'exceptional' against spin. Dhoni is regarded as one of the finest wicketkeepers to ever play the game.

The Jharkhand cricketer had an unconventional wicketkeeping skill but it was very effective for him. Dhoni has overall 829 dismissals across all three formats, and he is only behind Mark Boucher (998) and Adam Gilchrist (905).

Ashwin was asked by a fan to pick the best behind the stumps among Dhoni, Wriddhiman Saha, and Dinesh Karthik. The off-spinner named Dhoni, and said that he has hardly seen him missing an opportunity as a wicketkeeper.

"Dhoni, Saha, and DK - in that order, you can take the answer. It is very difficult to separate them behind the stumps,” he said on his Youtube Channel. "I've played a lot of cricket with Dinesh in Tamil Nadu. But if I've to pick one.. I think some tough dismissals have been made look easy just the man behind the stumps (MS Dhoni)."

Ashwin recalled a dismissal involving Dhoni against Australia at Chennai which impressed him a lot. “There's this one dismissal of Ed Cowan in Chennai on Day 1 where he steps out and gets stump. The ball didn't turn but it bounced, and MS Dhoni collected the ball.

"I've hardly seen him miss anything, be it stumping or run-out catches. He's one of the most exceptional keepers against spin. Saha is not far behind either," he said.

Ashwin also praised current India Test wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha and said he's also not far behind when it comes to keeping against spinners.

Before Rishabh Pant sealed his place in the team in all three formats, India used to play Saha in the home conditions over Pant due to his mastery in wicketkeeping against spinners.
