Former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram expressed his disappointment after seeing empty stands in Karachi stadium during the first T20I against West Indies.
Pakistan is currently hosting West Indies for a 3-match T20I series. After the completion of the T20I series, both teams will play 3 ODIs, between 18th to 22nd December in Karachi.
After New Zealand and England canceled their tour to Pakistan, it was expected that huge crowds would turn up to see their home team play. However, this wasn’t the case as the stands were almost empty, and very few people came to the stadium in the first T20I against West Indies.

Talking about the same, Wasim Akram took to his official Twitter account and expressed his disappointment, saying that it was sad to see empty stands, especially after Pakistan’s recent performance. He also asked fans to tell him why they didn’t come to the stadium to watch the match.
“Incredibly sad to see an empty stadium in Karachi for the #PAKvWIt20 especially after the performance of Pakistan in the last month. I’m pretty sure I know why but I want to hear from you! Tell me, where is the crowd and why??” Wasim Akram Tweeted.
A section of fans complained that they had to wait for 3 hours and asked Pakistan Cricket Broad (PCB) to take measures on this. Reacting to the same, Akram called it concerning as this is not a backyard cricket but international series.
“This is VERY concerning. This is not a backyard game this is an International Series,” Akram replied.
Coming to the T20I series, Pakistan crushed West Indies in the first T20I by 63 runs and then followed it with a 9-run victory to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Both the teams will next face in dead rubber third T20I on 16th December in Karachi.
