Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus while reacting to Kamran Akmal’s statement of opting out of the PSL 2022 due to the humiliation of being demoted to the gold category said that he would love to play in the league for free.
Kamran Akmal’s name hogged the headlines after he pulled out of the PSL 2022 after he was demoted from the diamond category to the gold category by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in the PSL 7 draft.
The 39-year-old then was finally picked by Peshawar Zalmi from the silver category. This didn’t go well with Kamran Akmal as he opted out of the tournament, saying that him being demoted is a "humiliation" as he has scored many runs in the tournament and he deserves better.

"If it has to end like this, so be it, but I am not going to play with such humiliation. This is an embarrassment. You don't treat a player like this. With all the runs I have scored in the league, I deserve better,” Kamran Akmal told ESPNCricinfo.
Reacting to the Tweet of ESPNCricinfo related to Kamran Akmal’s statement, Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus expressed his desire to play in the PSL, saying that he would love to play for free in the league.
"Pick me, I'll be there for free,” Gerhard Erasmus Tweeted.
Netherlands cricketer Maxwell O'Dowd also reacted to the same and expressed his desire to play in the tournament.
"Up for a swap!? I'll gladly play!" Maxwell O'Dowd Tweeted.
