India’s first World Cup-winning captain and legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev revealed that he got very emotional after watching the trailer of the upcoming film '83' based on India's historical win in the 1983 Cricket World Cup. The film will hit the silver screen on December 24.
In a recent promotional event, the former India captain has opened up about the upcoming film '83' and his early struggles with the English language.
He has recently attended the Indian launch of Burlington English, the global education conglomerate, and said during the event, “After watching the trailer I am very emotional, but let's wait for December 24 to see the end product. I can't say anything till it is released.”
Speaking about Ranveer Singh and the whole cast of the “83”, he said: “Ranveer is a great actor. I don't think he needs any inputs or any help. He just spent time with me and rest he is smart enough.”
The 62-year-old also revealed how he fought with his fears about the language as he was far from being fluent in English during the 1978-1979 season.
He signed off by saying, “You will come to know that better once the movie releases. I still don't know the language that much, but I know the language to communicate. That's more important for me. I still learn a new word daily.”
Notably, Deepika Padukone will be seen playing Romi, Kapil Dev's wife in '83'.
