Australia batter Travis Head on Tuesday (December 14) said that he is excited to take on England on his home ground of Adelaide in the second Test of the ongoing Ashes 2021-22, starting on December 16.
Head produced a Man of the Match performance with the bat in the first Test to help Australia kickstart the Ashes series with a bang, defeating England by 9 wickets at the Gabba, Brisbane last week.
He scored 152 in the first innings to play a key role in Australia's big win over England in the first Test and the batter is keen and eager to continue with his attacking style of play in the second Test to be held at the Adelaide Oval from Thursday, December 16-20.
The second Ashes Test will be a day-night contest between Australia and England in Adelaide. The fifth and final test will also be a pink ball match to be played in Hobart in January 2022.
Head told reporters at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday, “It's just I got opportunities to score and was able to take them and if that presents itself I'm going to try and take that if it doesn't, then I'll feel like my technique's in a great space to go the opposite way.”
He also confirmed that either Jhye Richardson or Michael Nesser would replace the injured Josh Hazelwood in the second Ashes Test against England.
