India captain Virat Kohli remembers the sacrifices of brave hearts in 26/11 attack

Mumbai terrorist attacks was carried out by 10 terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba in 2008.

Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli remembered the sacrifices of brave hearts and the lives lost of civilians in the 26/11 attack. The Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists had targetted multiple places in the southern part of Mumbai, including the Chhatrapati Shivaji railway station and Taj Mahal Palace & Tower hotel.

The attacks were carried out by 10 gunmen armed with automatic weapons and hand grenades. Ajmal Amir Kasab was the lone arrested terrorist, while the others were killed in a face-off with security personnel.

"We will never forget this day, we will never forget the lives lost. Sending my prayers to the friends and families who lost their loved ones," tweeted Kohli on the 13th anniversary of the Mumbai terror attack.

Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag also posted a tweet and mentioned the bravery of Ashoka Chakra awardee Tukaram Omble, who was martyred while catching Kasab alive.

When Kasab open fire, Omble stood in front of him and held on to the barrel of the rifle to prevent the bullets from hitting anyone else but him.

"13 years since the sad day. He is of the greatest son of our soil- Shaheed Tukaram Omble. The courage, the presence of mind and the selflessness demonstrated by him on that day- no words,no awards can do justice. Dandavat pranam hai aise mahaan insaan ko," Sehwag posted.
