Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman has reportedly refused the post of the next National Cricket Academy (NCA) head offered by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

After reports emerged about Rahul Dravid's possibly taking over as the head coach of the Indian cricket team, the BCCI is now looking for his replacement at the NCA, Bengaluru.

The batting legend is primed to replace Ravi Shastri after the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 for which he'll have to leave his long-held post of NCA head.

As per the source close to Sports Tak, it is also learned that the BCCI is looking for someone who has relentlessly served Indian cricket and approached VVS Laxman with an offer for the post of NCA head but the former Indian batsman refused as he’s not interested.

With Rahul Dravid in line to be the next Indian coach, BCCI would want to have a like to like replacement for him at the NCA and no one could’ve been better than VVS Laxman, who is among the legends of Indian cricket and has scored 8781 runs in 134 Tests with 17 centuries to his name.

Now with Laxman's refusal, BCCI will continue the process of finding the individual who will groom the youngsters at the NCA.
