The 1987 and 1999 World Cup-winning all-rounder has expressed his desire to be the next head coach of Team India, though; he had previously applied for the top post in 2017 and 2019, but the former all-rounder was never considered for the job.

It is being said that Moody’s aspiration to become India coach prompted him to drop Warner from playing XI and give India’s youngsters a chance in the IPL 2021, as the owners of SRH are “influential” figures at the BCCI.

The report further claimed, “It’s believed the Sunrisers’ owners are influential figures in the BCCI, which could explain the decision to leave Warner out for their past half-a-dozen matches and turn to youth. Warner, too, has been approached by a number of other IPL franchises, who have been shocked by the run-scoring machine being sidelined.”

Noteworthy, SRH head coach Trevor Bayliss had earlier stated that Warner was dropped from the playing XI to give youngsters in the side a chance in the IPL 2021.
