India chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav has battled indifferent form and ignorance from selectors in the past few years and recently was battling a knee injury for which he came back to Mumbai from UAE in midst of the second leg of the IPL 2021.
Kuldeep had last played for India in Tests against England in Chennai in early February this year. He was overlooked for the England tour, though he recently played against Sri Lanka in the white-ball series.
While he was one of India's key players in white-ball cricket in the lead-up to the 2019 ODI World Cup, and an emerging member of their red-ball side as well, he has since slipped down the pecking order. Since that World Cup, he has featured in 14 of India's 21 ODIs, five of their 30 T20Is, and just one of their 22 Tests.

Even in the IPL, Kuldeep Yadav has been overlooked for Varun Chakravarthy, resulting in him playing just five games during IPL 2020, and has not featured even once this year.
Now after undergoing successful knee surgery, Kuldeep Yadav seemed to be in good spirits as he posted a photo from the hospital.
“Surgery was a success and the road to recovery has just begun. Thank you so much to everyone for your amazing support. The focus is now to complete my rehab well and be back on the pitch doing what I love as soon as possible,” Kuldeep posted on his Twitter.
His IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders also posted a get well soon message on their Twitter account with the caption reading, “Get well soon, @imkuldeep18”
