Ravi Shastri and Sachin Tendulkar wish Bishan Singh Bedi on his 75th birthday

Former India captain Bedi played for India from 1966 to 1979.

Bishan Singh Bedi | GettyLegendary India spinner and former captain Bishan Singh Bedi turned 75 today on September 25, 2021. As wishes were pouring in for one of the all-time great spinners of the world, the current Team India head coach Ravi Shastri took to Twitter to extend his birthday wishes.

Many happy returns of the day, @BishanBedi. When bowling, poetry in motion, easily one of the best bowling actions the game as seen. God bless you, Sir,” Shastri wrote on Twitter along with a photo of the former India leg spinner.

After Shastri, ace batter Sachin Tendulkar also sent his birthday wishes for Bedi who hails from Amritsar on his 75th birthday on Twitter.

Enjoyed listening to each one of them. Wishing you a wonderful year ahead full of good health & happiness,” Master Blaster wrote as the caption along with the picture.

As far as the legendary left-arm spinner is concerned, Bedi represented India from 1966 to 1979 and played in 67 Tests with 266 wickets to his name. He also captained India in 22 Test matches. Bedi also represented Northamptonshire in English county cricket for many years.

The 75-year-old was also honored with the Padma Shri Award in 1970. He finished his career with 1,560 wickets in first-class cricket which is more than any other Indian.
