India pacer T Natarajan is looking forward to his comeback in competitive cricket as the left-arm quick is coming off a five-month layoff due to injury. Natarajan featured only in two matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the first-leg of IPL 2021 before undergoing a knee surgery.
But as the Tamil Nadu cricketer has completely recovered from the injury, in a recent video shared by the Hyderabad-based franchise on social media, the fast bowler can be seen saying that he is all set to get back on the field.
“I'm coming back to the field after five months and after surgery, so I'm very happy. I'm confident too because I'm playing after a long gap. I was a bit desperate. But I'm very happy now,” Natarajan said.
The 29-year-old then hailed National Cricket Academy (NCA) for ensuring that his recovery process was smooth.
“The NCA was everything for me. Recovery... step-by-step at NCA. They were patient with my recovery. They did a lot of good things. They slowly eased me back, which is a very good sign. I was really happy,” the left-arm quick said.

The India cricketer then talked about how he has been focusing only on building physical strength ahead of his first match in IPL 2021 and also revealed that he has prepared himself mentally and is confident of performing well.
“I'm happy to be back at SRH after 5 months. Back from surgery, it's a big thing that I will play again next week. I'm excited and looking forward to it. In this one week, I will have to practice, build strength and I have prepared well mentally. I'm confident I'll do well in the first game,” the cricketer said.
“I must stay fit (smiles). I must contribute my most (sic) to the team. My next goal is to win games for my team,” he concluded.
The pacer had a great IPL 2020 in UAE as he picked a total of 16 wickets in the same number of outings and will be looking forward to replicating the same performances this year as well.
