Babar Azam and Tom Latham | GettyPakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja was furious after New Zealand called off their tour of Pakistan on the day when the first ODI was to be played in Rawalpindi. Raja has threatened to drag New Zealand Cricket Board to the ICC over this matter.

New Zealand canceled the tour just before the start of the first ODI, citing a security threat that was communicated to them by the New Zealand government. However, the Pakistan board insisted no such threat existed.

New Zealand Cricket chief executive David White issued a statement to say that it was simply not possible to continue with the tour given the advice he was receiving from his government. The Black Caps have been here since 11 September.

This was supposed to be New Zealand’s first tour of Pakistan since 2003, which was to comprise of three ODIs and five T20 Internationals, to be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore.

"Crazy day it has been! Feel so sorry for the fans and our players. Walking out of the tour by taking a unilateral approach on a security threat is very frustrating. Especially when it's not shared!! Which world is NZ living in??NZ will hear us at ICC," Raja tweeted.
