Dale Steyn recently retired from all forms of cricket. The South African pacer recalled his experiences in playing international cricket and in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in India.
Steyn played 21 international matches in India and picked up 50 wickets across formats. His career-best figures in Test cricket (7/51) came in a Test at Nagpur, India. He has also played 95 IPL matches in which he picked 97 wickets.
Steyn said that people in India would make him feel like a rock star and people treated him like a Hollywood or a Bollywood actor.
"India is crazy! It's the closest you're going to be to feel like a rock star. You're treated like a Hollywood or Bollywood star. Cricket is just crazy there. You go to the airport and you're bombarded, you go to practice and there are 10,000 people watching. It's doubtful I'll ever have that experience in my life again with anything that I do," Dale Steyn said in an interview with SA cricketmag.
Steyn is regarded as one of the fiercest bowlers. He played 93 Tests (439 wickets), 125 ODIs (196 wickets), and 47 T20Is (64 wickets) for South Africa and contributed to numerous memorable victories for the team.
