Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi is looking to finally hang up his boots from cricket. He recently suggested the next season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) could be his last appearance in competitive cricket.

Afridi, who is currently with Multan Sultans, has expressed a desire to play for Quetta Gladiators in his last PSL season. It will be his fourth PSL franchise if he plays for Quetta next season. He has earlier played in two seasons for Peshawar Zalmi and one for Karachi Kings.

"Maybe this ends up being my last PSL. I would like to play for Quetta Gladiators this season, provided Multan allow me to leave. If Nadeem Omar and Quetta's owners want to have me, I would love to represent them," he told the media.

Afridi has already announced his retirement from international cricket back in 2017. The all-rounder had announced retirement from international cricket multiple times before his final call.

The 44-year-old played 27 Test matches for Pakistan, in which he scored 1,176 runs and picked up 48 wickets. In the 398 ODIs that Afridi played throughout his career, he notched up 8,064 runs, with the highest score of 124, and took 395 wickets. 

Afridi had quit Test cricket in 2010 and One-Day Internationals in 2015, while he was playing T20I format until his final retirement decision in 2017.
