Ace Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan named his all-time ODI XI and has picked former India skipper MS Dhoni to lead the side. The left-handed batsman and off-spinner also named himself in the all-time playing XI.
For the openers, Shakib, in the Sportskeeda’s YouTube channel, picked two of the greatest limited-overs starters in Sachin Tendulkar of India and Saeed Anwar of Pakistan.
The duo of Tendulkar and Anwar ruled the 90s in the 50-over format and had quite a rivalry with one another. Saeed Anwar held the record for the highest individual ODI score of 194 from 1997-2009 when Charles Coventry hit 194* against Bangladesh.
Tendulkar then made the first-ever double ton in men’s ODI cricket- 200* against South Africa in 2010 to break their record.
Shakib then picked Chris Gayle at no.3, Virat Kohli at no.4, and Jacques Kallis and himself at no.5 and 7, the all-rounder’s spot. Although Gayle has been an opener for the majority of his career, his match-winning capabilities earn him the number three spot in Hasan’s line-up.
32-year-old Kohli has ruled the ODI scene since his debut and has the second most centuries-43, just behind Tendulkar’s record of 49. Kallis is inarguably the greatest fast-bowling all-rounder in ODI cricket and along with Shakib makes the middle order formidable.
MS Dhoni comes in at no.5 and will keep wickets and captain the side. He is one of the most successful captains in the format’s history and has won the ICC World Cup and Champions Trophy apart from other numerous 50-over series.

Hasan then named both Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne in the playing XI. Both the spinners ruled the cricket world during their playing days.
As for the fast bowler, Hasan brought in the variety by choosing left-handed Wasim Akram and Australian Glenn McGrath. This gives the playing XI the pace and swing of Akram, along with his left-handed angle, while McGrath brings in his accuracy and bounce.
