Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani has on Thursday (August 26) resigned from the post after completing his three-year term at the PCB.
Mani had already confirmed to Geo News that he had declined to extend his stint as the PCB chairman that ended on August 25, which means he was no longer at the post.
On Thursday, a PCB official didn’t reveal much but confirmed that Mani is no longer the chairman of the PCB after his previous stint ended on Wednesday (August 25).
An official of the PCB revealed: “We can make no further comments on the matter as the notification for the election of the new chairman will be issued by the Prime Minister's house.”
Meanwhile, Ramiz Raja is all set to be the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The decision follows a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan, who gave the go-ahead for the change of guard at the PCB.
Both Ramiz and Mani met the Prime Minister on Monday (August 23) afternoon. After the meeting Ramiz, a former Pakistan captain, told Cricbuzz, 'I have given him (Imran Khan) my plans. He will make a call," and decided to wait to hear from the PM's office.
Eventually, the decision was made three days later and Ramiz confirmed that he has accepted the job.
"The aim is to reset Pakistan cricket's GPS and will be in pursuit of excellence," Raja, who was also a Chief Executive Officer of PCB.
