Former Pakistan captain and commentator Ramiz Raja has expressed his concerns over Pakistan’s inconsistency at present, saying the team remains highly inconsistent and they can’t make it to the finals of major ICC tournaments given their ranking in all three formats of the game.

As reported by ESPNcricinfo, Raja said: “Pakistan has been extremely inconsistent and, let's be fair, that the ranking in each format reflects that Pakistan cannot make it into the final of tournaments.”

He added, “The only chance they have is to play the semi-final in T20 format while considering the ODI and Test format it's hard for them to go past the pool stage. So I have updated him [Imran Khan] on things on the cricketing front. We had a productive meeting and it is now his call on how to proceed.”

The 1992 World Cup winner also opened up on the talks of him being appointed as the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), saying he has presented a roadmap to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for the national team.

According to Geo News, Pakistan PM Imran Khan hinted at appointing Raja as the new PCB chief after a meeting with current chief Ehsan Mani and former skipper at the PM's office with the latter would not be reportedly given another term in the office.

Raja revealed, “I did meet with the PM and presented him with a roadmap for how Pakistan cricket can go forward. It was a cricket-centric discussion on the problems Pakistan cricket is facing and what possible steps can be taken to improve the overall performance.”

He signed off by saying, “I am glad he called me up and heard me out. He is concerned about the state of cricket overall and is open to discussion.”
