Indian captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma’s love story is nothing less than an enchanting fairy tale that started back in 2013 when they were cast together in a shampoo commercial and it did not take too long for the sparks to fly.
Ever since their love story began, the couple only grew stronger with time as individuals and partners just like their respective careers and even Kohli has often credited his actress-producer wife for bringing positive change in his life and how the relationship has empowered him as a player and a human being.
He always says the relationship has only a positive impact on his professional and professional life. The Indian skipper recently said his wife has also alleviated him as a person.
Kohli told Dinesh Karthik in an interaction: “If I hadn’t met her (Anushka), I don’t know where I would have been. She has made me believe where I am and what impact I can have through what I do. She has alleviated me as a person, and that has eventually filtered through in cricket. I couldn’t be more grateful and lucky to have a life partner like her. She is absolutely my better half.”
The 32-year-old also opened how their life changed after the birth of Vamika and how he and Anushka “stay up to speed” with their baby girl’s schedule. Virat and Anushka tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Tuscany in December 2017 and welcomed Vamika in January 2021.
He said, “Firstly now, with our daughter, it’s putting her to sleep, first thing. Then, stepping out for breakfast somewhere, grab a quick coffee in the time that we get. And then, come back to the room to be with our daughter again. Priority is obviously making sure that we stay up to speed with her schedule.”
Currently, Anushka and Vamika with Kohli in England where he is leading the Indian cricket team in a five-match Test series. The skipper revealed how they comfortably walk down the street after doing parenting duties that luxury isn’t available back in India because of a huge fan following.
Kohli signed off by saying, “Just taking a stroll down the street is probably the most relaxing thing for both of us (in England). Such is the reality of our lives back home. Can’t complain about anything in life, but we have to adjust. Thinking of going down the street in India is not even a dream for us now, it doesn’t even arrive in our dreams anymore.”
