Former South Africa cricketer Herschelle Gibbs has slammed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for bringing political agenda in cricket with Pakistan. He posted a tweet and wrote that BCCI is preventing him from taking part in Kashmir Premier League (KPL).

As per Gibbs, BCCI warned and said if he plays KPL, the richest cricket board won't allow him to work in India for anything related to cricket. He called it an unnecessary step by BCCI.

Taking to Twitter, the ex-cricketer wrote, “Completely unnecessary of the @BCCI to bring their political agenda with Pakistan into the equation and trying to prevent me playing in the @kpl_20. Also threatening me saying they won’t allow me entry into India for any cricket related work. Ludicrous.”

The likes of Gibbs, former Sri Lankan cricketer Tilakaratne Dilshan are among the drafted players in the KPL. Earlier, Pakistan's Rashid Latif had tweeted that BCCI is not letting the former cricketers from different nations participate in the tournament.

“The @BCCI warning cricket boards that if their former players took part in Kashmir Premier League, they won’t be allowed entry in India or allowed to work in Indian cricket at any level or in any capacity. Gibbs, Dilshan, @MontyPanesar & several others have been selected in KPL," he tweeted.

KPL has six teams in the tournament which are named Overseas Warriors, Muzaffarabad Tigers, Rawalakot Hawks, Bagh Stallions, Mirpur Royals, and Kotli Lions.

Pakistan's popular cricketers Imad Wasim, Mohammad Hafeez, Shahid Afridi, Shadab Khan, Shoaib Malik, and Kamran Akmal are the captains.
