England will tour Australia in December 2021 for the biggest Test competition between the two nations, ‘The Ashes’. From the hard-fought England victory at Edgbaston in 2005 to the recent Stokes-led 'England's win for the ages' at Headingley in 2019, Ashes has surely brought best of cricketing emotions on the field over the years.
With the two giant nations again set to meet in Australia, the sports critics and fans of these two teams have already started looking forward to the big series. However, fans might not get the opportunity to support their teams from the stadium amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
When India played in Australia earlier this year, fans were allowed into the stadiums with limited seating but the states had already locked their borders not just barring the international travel but also travel within the country.
The Ashes will be played in December but if the restrictions continue, it might mean that the English players would have to travel without their families. Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes that in case this happens, many top English players would not play the Ashes.

“If Australia continue to lock the borders and make it very, very difficult there will come a stage where a sports team decides not to come. I’m not saying that will be the England cricket team but … as we speak, I would be amazed if England have a full-strength team for the Ashes” Vaughan told the ABC.
The Ashes will begin on 8th December with the first Test to be played at The Gabba in Brisbane. Australia are the current holders of the urn as they retained the Ashes in England two years ago playing 2-2 series draw.
