Pakistan bowling coach Waqar Younis’ wife Faryal has on Thursday (July 22) revealed that how she received curses and death threats on social media after Men in Green’s series defeat in white-ball tour against England.
Pakistan cricket fans were left heartbroken by Babar Azam and his team’s abysmal show on their recent limited-overs tour of England and have been venting out their anger on social media by abusing and criticizing the team, coaches, and management.
Recently, Pakistan suffered a whitewash in a three-match ODI series and then managed to win just one game on the England tour, losing another 1-2 defeat in the three-match T20I series as well – which did not go down well with the Pakistani fans.
To express their disappointment over their humiliating series of defeats in England, the Pakistani supporters resorted to abusing the players, coaches, team management members, and even their families on social media, which left Waqar’s wife disturbed.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Faryal admitted that Pakistan's loss on England tour was disappointing, but nobody should be nasty enough to curse and wish death to her family members.
She wrote on Twitter, “On another note, please refrain from cursing and wishing death to me and my family. It’s unfortunate Pakistan lost, really disappointing but honestly, no one needs to be so nasty.”
