But it has happened as one Team India led by Rohit Sharma is playing the County Select XI in Durham, while another Indian team led by Shikhar Dhawan is playing Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Rohit Sharma’s Indians are engaging the county team in a three-day warm-up match in Durham, in which the likes of Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane missing due to various niggles and Mohammed Shami and R Ashwin rested.

In Colombo, Sri Lanka has set India a target of 276 to chase down and the Men in Blue side has lost five wickets and at the time of writing this article, India was 123/5 in 19 overs, needing 153 runs in 31 overs, with Suryakumar Yadav at the crease with Krunal Pandya.

However, the Indian team in Durham in England has been keeping an eye on the proceedings in Sri Lanka and the BCCI shared a photo of players like Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Akshar Patel, Hanuma Vihari, Ajinkya Rahane, and Umesh Yadav watching the match in the pavilion on a laptop.

Indians in Durham lost the first three wickets early with Rohit falling for 9, Mayank for 28, and Pujara for 21. While Hanuma Vihari made 24, KL Rahul impressed a lot with great application and at the time of writing this piece, Indians had made 207/4.
