Sri Lanka batting coach Grant Flower will face a disciplinary inquiry conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board over the bio-bubble breach in England. Flower was one of the members of the Sri Lanka team member tested COVID-19 positive on return from the England tour.
After returning from the England tour, several players and coaching staff, including Flower and data analyst GT Niroshan tested positive for COVID-19 and they were all put in isolation in Sri Lanka.

The former Zimbabwe cricketer will undergo the investigation after he completes his quarantine period, as SLC wants to find out how he got infected and whether he breached any COVID-19 protocol in England – where the Islanders have lost five of their 6 white-ball games.
A member of Sri Lanka’s medical staff told ESPNcricinfo; “We have to find out how Flower got infected, and also which variant of the virus he has been infected with.”
The official further added, “The players will now have to go through another PCR Test as it is learned that there was some sort of mingling between the batting coach and his players. The measure will be intensified if Flower is tested positive of the more contagious Delta variant.”
Noteworthy, Sri Lanka is all set to play India in a three-match ODI series starting on July 18 in Colombo followed by a three-match T20I series. The series was initially slated to start on July 13 but was postponed due to COVID-19 cases in the Sri Lanka camp
