BBL 11 will run from December 5 to January 28 | GettyThe Big Bash League 2021-22 (BBL 11) will see its format return to the original home and away one. The tournament had to move to the cluster caravan format last season owing to the Coronavirus situation.

As the BBL monitoring the COVID situation closely, teams will return to playing seven games at home and away games this season before the finals series. A total of 14 venues will host the matches of the BBL 11 across seven states and territories, including a return to GMHBA Stadium in Geelong and Coffs International Stadium in Coffs Harbor.

BBL 11: CA postpones BBL draft for overseas players again due to COVID-19 pandemic

Cricket Australia, on Wednesday, announced the schedule for the BBL 11, which sees the tournament run from December 5 to January 28, with eight 'mega days' that'll see BBL action after the Ashes Test. The concurrent schedule should effectively rule the Ashes participants for a good portion of the series.

The five-match Finals series is scheduled to begin on Friday, January 21, with The Eliminator, The Qualifier, and The Knockout taking place across three consecutive nights. The Challenger follows on Wednesday, January 26, with The Final on Friday, January 28.

Owing to the prevalent COVID-19 situation, CA has scrapped its plans for a draft for overseas players. The teams will now sign their overseas players - three per team - in the traditional way. CA also hopes that with England and Afghanistan touring down under for Test matches, the participation of their players will boost the BBL 11.
