Former India skipper and current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has finally agreed to have a biopic made on him.
According to sources, the movie will be made under a big banner-production house with a budget of around INR 200 to INR 250 crores being earmarked for the film.
In his recent interaction with News18, Ganguly confirmed this news as he said, “Yes, I have agreed to the biopic. It will be in Hindi but it is not possible to say the name of the director now. It will take a few more days for arranging everything.”
Some sources suggest that the script of this film will be capturing the left-hand batsman’s entire journey till he becomes BCCI president and is currently being written. The production house has had multiple meetings with Sourav Ganguly.

Even though the actor playing the role of Sourav Ganguly is still a mystery, according to some reports, Ranbir Kapoor is the ‘hot choice’ to play the role of Dada. Ganguly himself has mentioned Ranbir Kapoor’s name but there are two more actors on the list as well.
After MS Dhoni’s super-hit biopic and a documentary movie on the life of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Ganguly’s biopic will be the latest biopic on cricketers.
While currently, a movie is being made about India’s 1983 World Cup win, where Ranveer Singh is portraying the role of then India captain Kapil Dev, and former India skipper Mohammad Azharuddin had his too, with Emraan Hashmi playing him.
Work is also underway on biopics of Indian women cricketers like Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami.
