Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne was forced to pull out of Glamorgan's T20 Blast match against Middlesex after his teammate Nick Selman tested positive for COVID-19.

Confirming the same, Glamorgan said that Nick Selman will now have to spend 10 days in self-isolation while Marnus Labuschagne along with teammate Michael Neser were identified as close contacts and were removed from the match-day squad. 

The statement added that all other team members, coaches, and staff members returned with negative results.

"Batsman Nick Selman has tested positive for coronavirus following the results of a PCR test. He will now spend 10 days in self-isolation. The club also identified Labuschagne and Michael Neser as potential close contacts and are taking the precautionary measure of removing them from the matchday squad. All other team members, coaches, and staff returned negative results,” Glamorgan said in a statement.

Micheal Neser however, hasn't featured in a single game for Glamorgan this year while the absence of Marnus Labuschagne and Nick Selman will be a huge blow for the team. 

Labuschagne so far has been the top scorer for Glamorgan with 294 runs from six innings at an average of 58.80 while Nick Selman who earned youth representative honors for Queensland in both cricket and football, is the third-highest scorer with 130 runs from six innings.

Marcus Labuschagne could miss more T20 games and with him failing to make Australia's limited-overs squad, the tournament will be his final bid for a spot in the national team for this year's T20 World Cup.
