In the latest development, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has suspended national team players Kusal Mendis, Niroshan Dickwella and Danushka Gunathilaka for violating the bio-bubble during the ongoing England tour.
"Sri Lanka Cricket executive committee has suspended Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka & Niroshan Dickwella for breaching the bio- bubble and they will be immediately recalled to Sri Lanka," SLC secretary Mohan De Silva said in a statement, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

The announcement comes after a video went viral on social media where the duo of Dickwella and Mendis can be seen enjoying a night out in Durham, outside of the team bio-bubble.
In another video, opening batsman Gunathilaka is seen joining the pair, breaching the COVID-19 protocols of their stay in England.
Sri Lanka suffered a 3-0 clean sweep in the T20I series against England that concluded on Saturday (June 26).
It was Sri Lanka’s fifth consecutive Twenty20 series defeat. As a result, furious Lankan fans launched a campaign to shun the team on social media.
The hashtag #unfollowcricketers was trending on Facebook on Sunday (June 27) as thousands of fans boycotted the social media pages of some players.
