Ravindra Jadeja becomes no.1 ranked all-rounder in Tests

Jadeja returns to top spot after last being there in August 2017 | GettyIndia all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja attained the no.1 ranking in the latest ICC Test all-rounders rankings, released on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. This happened due to West Indies’ Jason Holder losing 28 rating points after the South Africa series.

The Indian left-hander, who returns to No.1 after last being there in August 2017, is on 386 rating points, two ahead of Holder.

He scored a brilliant century as well in the first Test and scored 96 in the first innings of the second Test and this has helped him gain two places and reach 10th position, the first time in 18 months that he is in the top 10. He had attained his career-best 6th ranking in December 2019.

South Africa captain Dean Elgar moved up to 19th after setting the platform for the win with a knock of 77.

Among South Africa's bowlers, player of the match Kagiso Rabada is up to one place to sixth while spinner Keshav Maharaj, who took only the second hat-trick by a South African in Tests, progressed to 28th spot.
