Australia opening batsman David Warner in his recent interaction praised former India skipper Rahul Dravid for the role he has played in grooming the Indian youngsters during his stint as India A and India U-19 team coach.

Warner felt even though IPL is a great platform for the youngsters to perform, Dravid did a great job in getting these players ready for international cricket.

“The IPL has been a great platform and you have to give credit to Rahul Dravid. It seems like he is doing a fantastic job through the pathway system to get these players ready for international cricket. It showed when they came to play us here. In future India is going to be a very formidable side in Test cricket as they are now,” Warner told India Today eSalaamCricket.

Even after not having skipper Virat Kohli around after the first Test match at Adelaide followed by a series of injuries to a lot of senior pros, meant a completely young Indian side played against a full-strength Aussie side.

While the odds were stacked up against Team India, they rose up to the occasion and performed exceptionally well to win their second consecutive Test series in Australia.

“When you take the captain (Kohli) away, who is a world-class player and has a lot of runs on the board, and you've got this youth coming with energy and performing against us the way they did, I think they are going to be a force to be reckoned with,” the southpaw said.

After getting all-out for 36 in the first Test match, Team India came back strongly and ended up winning the four-match Test series 2-1 with the final win coming at Australia’s fortress 'The Gabba'.
