Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina recalled an incident when Rahul Dravid scolded him for his wrong choice of clothes. Raina had made his India debut under Dravid's captaincy in 2005.

Rahul Dravid was one of the finest batsmen the world has ever witnessed. The former Indian skipper after his retirement coached India A and under-19 team and is currently Director of cricket operations at the NCA and has played a massive role in shaping the youngsters.

The 48-year-old is famous for his cool and calm behavior both off and on the field. Suresh Raina recalled an incident when he was scolded by the former Indian skipper for his wrong choice of clothes.

In his book ‘Believe: What Life and Cricket Taught Me’, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina recalled an incident from 2006 when India was in Malaysia for a tri-series featuring West Indies and Australia.

Suresh Raina believes Dravid is responsible for building Team India, not Dhoni or Ganguly

The southpaw revealed that Rahul Dravid scolded him for wearing a branded t-shirt with ‘FCUK’ written on it. He admitted that he was scared that he went to his room and threw that T-shirt in the dust bin.

“Do you know what you are wearing and walking around in? You are an Indian cricketer. You cannot be out in public with that written on your T-shirt. I was so scared that I immediately went to the restroom, changed my clothes, and threw that T-shirt in the bin,” Suresh Raina stated in his book ‘Believe: What Life and Cricket Taught Me‘.

Suresh Raina further stated that he always wanted to go to Rahul Dravid and tell him to just relax and smile but he prepared himself for games by being in a serious mood.

“At times, I wondered if I should ask him to relax a little and smile. But I knew that this was his way of preparing for a game. He was in that zone where nobody could bother him,” he said.

Rahul Dravid will play the role of Team India’s coach during the white-ball series against Sri Lanka in July.
