Eoin Morgan, Jos Buttler in trouble after old tweets mocking English language used by fans emerge

The tweets have come to light a day after ECB suspended Ollie Robinson for his old racial posts.

Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler | GettyA day after ECB suspended fast bowler Ollie Robinson for his racist and sexist tweets as a teenager, old tweets from England's limited-overs skipper Eoin Morgan and wicket-keeper Jos Buttler have surfaced which seem to be written in a way that mocks the English language used by fans.

Former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum is also part of one conversation.

ECB suspended Robinson, who made his Test debut against New Zealand at Lord’s last week, pending an investigation into his offensive posts dating back to 2012-13, for which he has already tendered an unconditional public apology.

Considering ECB's zero-tolerance policy for any sort of discrimination, Morgan and Buttler might face some trouble.

On Tuesday (June 8), veteran pacer James Anderson said the past one week was really difficult for every member of the squad.

"It is a difficult time. As players, we are trying to learn from this. We realise it is important to try and educate around these issues, which we are continuing to with the ECB and the PCA. We have already been doing workshops before this series to try and help improve ourselves as people, basically, to try and make sure this sort of thing doesn't happen," Sky Sports quoted Anderson as saying.

Meanwhile, ECB is reportedly probing one more current England player for his old posts on the micro-blogging site.

The old tweets of the player in question were dug by wisden.com, which chose to obscure the identity of the player as he had not reached the age of 16 at that time.

The website shared screenshots of the tweet without disclosing the player’s name.

“…….your going out with a asian,” the player had posted with hashtags of #asianthroughhandthrough # hweollo #chinky.

"I remember being that age. You do make mistakes. You are very young and inexperienced but, as people, we have just got to try and get better, improve and make sure that this sort of thing does not happen – that people are aware it is unacceptable," said Anderson.
