Former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis is gearing up for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021, which will resume in UAE from June 9. He is part of the Quetta Gladiator franchise which is led by Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Du Plessis, who has also played under the captaincy of MS Dhoni for Chennai Super Kings, talked about the leadership of Sarfaraz and compared him with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli.

The 36-year-old said Dhoni's captaincy is very different while Sarfaraz and Kohli have a lot of similarities. “Quite different… MS is quiet and reserved, does most of his things instinctively on the field. Sarfaraz is the opposite… almost like Virat. Always talking to the players, always to the bowlers, always very passionate about how he captains his team, and he shows it. So, there is no right and wrong way. These are just two different styles,” he told Cricket Pakistan.

Du Plessis has also captained South Africa and he's himself passionate about leadership. He is always ready to share inputs with Sarfaraz whenever needed.

“He’s obviously been captain of Pakistan and has got the best out of players. I’ve always enjoyed playing under different leaders just to see how they go about their business because I also am pretty passionate about leadership myself so it’s nice for me to be able to see how he does things and offer my inputs if he wants to take it,” he added.

The sixth edition of PSL is all set to resume in Abu Dhabi on June 9 with the final to be held on June 24. 14 matches were completed before COVID-19 breached the bio-bubble earlier this year.
