Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar, who holds the record for bowling the fastest ball in international cricket, 161.3 kmph against England in 2003, gave sleepless nights to a lot of batsmen during his playing days.
The right-arm quick in his recent talk said that he’s determined to groom young Pakistan pacers into tearaway fast bowlers.
“They are focusing too much on gym work but whenever I’ll get the chance, will teach them what to do, what is a tearaway fast bowler, and how to become one. Whenever I’ll get the chance, I’ll do it. I’ll make them tear away fast bowler,” Akhtar said in a conversation with Farhan Nisar’s on his YouTube channel.

Akhtar who has 444 wickets to his name in international cricket then talked about importance of having the right attitude along with talent as the former Pakistan cricketer feels with the combination of right attitude and talent, anyone can reach different heights.
“Every single thing comes with attitude. When your attitude will be right and positive, your energy will be spent on the right things, then obviously you’ll get there. When there is talent and right attitude, obviously you’ll go places,” the 45-year-old said.
Even though Pakistan has had a luxury of many good fast bowlers, no one has been as fast as Shoaib Akhtar.
The current pace attack as well, even though it has good pacers like Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Hasnain who can bowl consistently over 140 kmph, but can’t quite get to that 160 kmph mark.
