Australia batsman Steve Smith is obsessed with batting and he starts shadow batting or any type of batting drill whenever he sees an opportunity. His teammate David Warner is well aware of Smith's habit and he said if his room is above yours, you can't sleep in the night.

In an interview with Fitzy & Wippa, Warner said, “A little insight to Steve Smith when you’re in a hotel room. If he’s above you, you ain’t sleeping. All you hear is the tapping all the time. You think it’s the cleaners coming in at midnight. You’re like, ‘Nah, that’s just Steve testing his bats.”

“He likes to feel the weight, but he likes to close his eyes, and yeah, that’s how he does it,” added Warner.

Earlier this year in January, Smith's wife Dani Willis had posted a sneak peek of the Aussie batsman practicing batting at the hotel room ahead of the India vs Australia 3rd Test. He was shadow batting in his hotel room with full Test kit.

Warner also talked about the superstition of Smith involving his thigh pad. “It’s just so common, Steve, that he put his whites on to actually work out if his thigh pad was going to fit in his pants. I’m worried about my box, not my thigh pad,” he said.

Recently, Warner and Smith returned home after undergoing hotel quarantine in Sydney after returning from India. They were part of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) which was postponed in halfway.
