The former Pakistan batsman Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi had completely different batting styles, Khan was a pure Test match batsman whereas Afridi was known for his big-hitting which is liked by the majority of the crowd.

Recently, in an interaction with a Pakistani news channel, the right-hand batsman recalled an incident that had happened during an India-Pakistan Test match when India had toured its neighboring country.

Mohammad Yusuf was batting on 170 and I was probably on 150. And we were playing against India. Suddenly people start shouting ‘please get Younis Khan out, please dismiss Mohammad Yousuf,’” Khan said.

I was amazed that I was about to get to 200 and we are playing against India in Pakistan but people are chanting. They basically wanted Shahid Afridi in the crease,” he added.

"India is doing what Pakistan used to do under Imran Khan’s leadership," Ramiz Raja

The current Pakistan batting coach then talked about how the crowd enjoyed Afridi’s batting on the day and after the explosive all-rounder was dismissed, the crowd left even though the 43-year-old was on 199.

Shahid Afridi came to the crease. Hit a few sixes here and there and got out. Amazingly, the crowd left with him. They got value for their money. But here I was nearing a double hundred in front of an empty stand,” the right-hand batsman said.

In this Test match, Pakistan had crushed the Indian pace attack on a flat track and posted 679/7 in the first innings. In reply, the Indian batsmen Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid put together a record 410-run as the rain-affected Test match ended in a draw.
