Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant who is coached by the likes of Ravi Shastri in the Indian team and the Australian great Ricky Panting when he plays for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL, still goes back to his childhood coach Tarak Sinha for feedback on his game.
After the recent Australia tour where Pant took Indian team to victory in the final Test match at the Gabba, the southpaw has been batting exceptionally well and was also appointed to lead DC in absence of regular skipper Shreyas Iyer.
Even though Pant was appreciated all over the world, Sinha felt it was important for the batsman to stay humble and not let this praise get to his head.

“He needs to be humble. And, he is, as of now, that I can assure you. He has achieved so much in the last couple of months and yet he approached me for the feedback on his game via video call recently,” Sinha said about Pant.
“I told him a couple of things which he needed to work on because no one is perfect and we all need to work on our game regardless of the fact that how good one may be. I didn’t want to tell him negative things during the IPL but he told me I always have that right and freedom to do so. What else you want from your student,” he added.
With access to so many world class players and experts of the game, the left-hand explosive wicketkeeper-batsman still consults Sinha like before.
“He still consults me as in the past. If you ask him today, he would tell you that whatever changes he needs to make in his batting, he does only after consulting me. It’s a big thing because he is now an established player,” Sinha signed off.
