Pacer Siddharth Kaul feels he can bring luck for Team India captain Virat Kohli in the upcoming 2023 ICC World Cup. Kaul was one of the members of the India U-19 2008 World Cup-winning side under Kohli.

Kaul had bagged 10 wickets, averaging 15.40, in 10 U-19 World Cup games. In the final, he put on a match-winning performance with figures of 2/26 in his five overs.

However, the speedster hasn't been a regular feature in the senior team and he has played only 3 ODIs and T20Is each. The 31-year-old believes he can help Kohli-led Team India bring the trophy in the upcoming ODI World Cup.

“I am happy with the run I had in the Indian team. But my dream is to help India win a World Cup in the coming years. If I stay, and the way I am building my game continues, then I definitely want to win India the World Cup. It is my dream. Just like how I helped India win the U-19 World Cup, I want to help India win the main World Cup too. With Virat Kohli as captain, I feel I can be his lucky charm,” Kaul told Sportskeeda.

“I will continue to perform with all my might. God willing, I will be part of the World Cup team. I don’t want to change anything or do anything differently. Nothing happens by doing that because if you lose the ability you previously had, what’s the point of it? It would be better to enhance and improve my existing ability so much that no one can point a finger at me," he further added.

While Siddharth Kaul is yet to take a wicket in the 50-over format for India, he has claimed 4 scalps in T20Is.
