Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has confirmed Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will marry his daughter.

In a recent TV interview, the celebrity cricketer confirmed that Shaheen will be his son-in-law in the future. When the host asked Afridi about his daughter’s future plan, he said she is currently busy with her studies and wants to become a doctor.

“At present, it is not decided whether she will pursue further studies in Pakistan or England,” Afridi said.

Shahid Afridi also clarified that though Shaheen also belongs to the Afridi tribe, he has no relationship to his daughter before confirming their engagement. "Afridis have eight tribes, Shaheen and we belong to different tribes," he elaborated.

In March, Shahid Afridi said on Twitter, “Shaheen's family approached my family for my daughter. Both families are in touch, matches are made in heaven, if Allah wills this match will be made too. My prayers are with Shaheen for his continued success on and off the field.”
