Cricket Australia (CA) is reportedly planning to give rest to batsman David Warner and pacer Pat Cummins for family reasons for the upcoming limited-overs series in West Indies.

Australia is set to tour West Indies for a five-match T20I series and three ODIs in July 2021. They have already named 23-member squad for the limited overs tour.

However, a report in Sydney Morning Herald suggested that veteran opener David Warner and speedster Pat Cummins, who are part of the squad, can be excluded from the Australia tour of the West Indies for family reasons.

The development might have occurred after Warner’s manager James Erskine came out openly to say that the Sandpaper Gate was handled badly and eventually the truth will come out.

As per the report, Erskine had intimated that David Warner would reveal the details of Sandpaper Gate in a book after he retires.

The ball-tampering scandal opened once again after Cameron Bancroft hinted that the bowlers were also aware in the entire episode.

Australian bowling quartet of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon on the other hand issued a joint statement and clarified that they had no one knowledge about the tactic.
