India was worst hit country by the second wave of COVID-19. The cases were increasing drastically as at one stage, the number of positive cases across the country were highest in the world since the pandemic started.
Thus, both BCCI and IPL governing council unanimously decided to suspend the 14th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) as some players and support staff members had tested positive for this deadly virus inside their team’s bio-bubble.
Delhi Capitals (DC) leg spinner Amit Mishra was one of them. The veteran spinner has however recovered from COVID-19 as he took to Instagram to announce his recovery and thank all the frontline workers.

“Today I have been finally declared covid negative. At this moment I just wanna thank our Frontline workers, and tell them: You have my support and heartfelt appreciation for all you do. We are deeply grateful to you for all the sacrifices that you and your family are making,” Mishra wrote.
The 38-year-old who represents the Delhi-based franchise in the IPL had a great start to the tournament under the captaincy of their newly appointed skipper Rishabh Pant as DC was on top of the points table with 6 wins in 8 matches before the cash-rich league’s suspension.
