England's Curran brothers have always played against each other in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sam plays for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) since last season, while Delhi Capitals (DC) got his elder brother, Tom for INR 5.25 crores in the IPL 14 auction.

Talking about the face-off in the tournament, Sam said he couldn't stop laughing when running in to bowl to Tom in the IPL 2021. Last year, Tom was part of the Rajasthan Royals franchise.

“We grew up so competitive, always batting, bowling, fielding, doing everything,” Curran said during a podcast called Headstrong: An Innings With.

“I’ve actually played against Tom in the IPL this year. On such a big stage, it’s pretty funny. I was running in to bowl and I couldn’t stop laughing. You’ve got to try and be serious but sometimes you’ve got to realize that it’s a bit of fun and whatever happens… happens.”

The 22-year-old also admitted that he wasn't happy when his brother got a boundary off his bowling with an outside edge.

In the IPL 2021, Sam and Tom clashed once again during CSK and DC's opening match of the season, and the former had smashed his elder brother for a couple of sixes and a four to collect 23 runs off the over.
