Former England captain Michael Vaughan was furious after ex-Pakistan cricketer Salman Butt commented on his ODI batting record. Butt's statement came after Vaughan compared New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and India skipper Virat Kohli as a batsman.
In an interview with Spark Sport, Vaughan had said that Williamson is on par with Kohli as the world's top batsman and he would have been called 'greatest player in the world if he was an Indian'.
Butt didn't agree with Vaughan's statement and he ended up making personal comments on the Englishman. "And who has compared the two? Michael Vaughan. He was a brilliant captain for England, but the beauty at which he used to bat, his output wasn't on par. He was a good Test batsman but Vaughan never scored a single century in ODIs.
"Now, as an opener, if you haven't scored a century, it's not worth discussion. It’s just that he has a knack of saying things that stir up a debate. Besides, people have a lot of time to stretch a topic," Butt said on his YouTube channel.

Vaughan was not happy with the personal comments and he came up with a response on social media.
On Instagram, Vaughan's post read, "This is very true Salman ... You are absolutely spot on ... but you forgot to mention I wasn’t a match-fixer who corrupted our great game like some ... #OnOn".
Butt was banned for 10 years after his role in the spot-fixing during a Test Match played between Pakistan and England in 2010. He was named as the orchestrator of a plot to bowl deliberate no-balls in the Lord's Test, with Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir the men who delivered them
