Former England skipper Michael Vaughan says he wouldn't bet against Kane Williamson having a better summer in the UK than Virat Kohli.
Both Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson will be seen in action when India and New Zealand will lock horns against each other in the ICC World Test Championship final at Rose Bowl in Southampton from June 18-22.
Before the WTC final, Kane Williamson-led New Zealand will face England in the two-match Test series while Virat Kohli-led Team India will lock horns against Three Lions in a five-Test series after the final of ICC event.
However, both Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson have a below-par record in England’s conditions. The Indian skipper has 727 runs at an average of 36.35, including two centuries while the New Zealand skipper has amassed 247 runs at an average of 30.87 with one hundred in four Tests.
Even though Virat Kohli set the stage on fire when India toured England last time in 2018, scoring 593 runs from 10 innings, former England skipper Michael Vaughan feels that despite his success on the previous tour, Virat Kohli has struggled in England and Kane Williamson might score more runs than him this summer.
"I think recently, a lot of pundits have been shouting for him (Kohli), whether he likes that or not, I'm not too sure. In English conditions, against the moving ball, Virat did enjoy success the last time he came in, but other than that he has struggled.
"In terms of quality and what he brings on the pitch and his consistency, I wouldn't bet against Kane Williamson getting more runs. I think Kane may score a few more runs than Virat this summer," Michael Vaughan told Spark Sport.
The two-Test series between England and New Zealand will start from 2nd June while the five-Test series between hosts and India will begin from 4th August.
