"Getting used to the climate and pitches in England," says Hanuma Vihari on County experience

Hanuma Vihari | GettyTeam India batsman Hanuma Vihari recently began his county stint with the Warwickshire. While talking about the experience of playing county cricket, the batsman opined that it is a good learning experience.

Vihari was contracted to play three matches for the club before joining the Indian Test squad for the Word Test Championship finale in Southampton.

It's been challenging as it's an early part of the season but I have gained good experience. Getting used to the climate and pitches here is the idea. Hope it helps during the WTC final against New Zealand and the series against England,” Vihari said.

New Zealand has slight edge over India in WTC Final, says Sanjay Manjrekar

When asked about playing cricket in England, the right-hand batsman said, “It’s a good place to play cricket. So I would enjoy the challenge. It is tough in this cold but again it’s a different experience. Yes, I am still training in Birmingham.

The 27-year-old who has batted at the top in most of his domestic career is ready to open as well against England.

I will do anything the team asks of me. I batted top of the order most of my career so I’m familiar with the challenge. I would like to focus on my own game and try to control the controllables,” Vihari signed off.

The right-hand batsman did not have a great start to his county stint as he was dismissed on a duck on his debut followed by an 8 in the second innings. He batted well in the second game against Essex, scoring 32 & 52. He lost his way in the third game as well as he got yet another duck, after scoring just 8 runs in the first innings against Durham.
