Yuzvendra Chahal's parents test COVID-19 positive; father hospitalized with severe symptoms

Indian wrist-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal's father is hospitalized with “severe symptoms” after being tested for the deadly Coronavirus. Chahal's wife Dhanashree Verma broke the news on social media.

Dhanashree took to Instagram to reveal that Chahal’s father and mother tested positive for the COVID-19. She further revealed that while her mother-in-law is being treated at home while Chahar’s father was admitted to the hospital after he had “severe symptoms”.

Mrs. Chahar wrote in her Instagram story: “My parents-in-law have tested positive with severe symptoms. My father-in-law is admitted and my mother-in-law is being treated at home.”

She added, “I was at the hospital and I have witnessed the worst. I'm taking all the precautions, but Guys please stay at home and take proper care of your family.”

Dhanashree, who is a choreographer and dentist, also revealed that her mother and brother tested positive for COVID-19 but they have now recovered when she was in the IPL 2021 bio-bubble. She also revealed her uncle and aunt died of Coronavirus-related complications.

She wrote, “It's been really tough and challenging for me as mother and brother tested positive. I was in the IPL bubble and felt extremely helpless but did monitor them from time to time. It's really difficult to stay away from your family. Fortunately, they've recovered.”

Noteworthy, Chahal was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise in the IPL 14 that was postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak inside the bio-secure bubble. He managed just 4 wickets in the IPL 2021 before it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
