Aakash Chopra feels Hardik Pandya won't be seen in Tests for a long time if he doesn't bowl

Pandya was not considered for the Indian team for the WTC final and England Tests.

Hardik Pandya bowled a few overs in the recent ODI series against England | GettyBCCI recently announced a 20-man squad that will be leaving for UK for the World Test Championship final against New Zealand at Southampton followed by a five-match Test series against England.

As Hardik Pandya was not picked in the side, the selection committee had made it clear that all-rounder Hardik Pandya was not considered in the Test squad since he is not bowling and Hardik Pandya is not needed in the side as a specialist batsman.

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra in his recent video talked about how the Indian all-rounder will be not seen in the Test arena for a while.

Hardik Pandya will only be considered for Test cricket once he starts bowling at full tilt - Report

One thing is certain that if he is not there in the WTC final, it's fine but if his name is not there even for the five Tests against England, it's clear that Hardik Pandya may not be seen in Test cricket for a long while,” Chopra said.

We all felt Hardik Pandya's name will surely be there. It is obvious that if he has to play Test cricket anywhere then England, South Africa and Australia are the places where you will need Hardik Pandya the medium pacer,” he added.

The 43-year-old then talked about how the right-hand explosive batsman himself had said that he is not comfortable with bowling as the situation of his back is quite bad.

The next day itself Hardik had given a statement that he does not want to play Test cricket at the moment because the situation of his back is very bad and he doesn't want to bowl. So, this is a statement on Hardik Pandya's immediate Test career that he will not be considered now,” Chopra signed off.
