Australian pacer Pat Cummins turned 28 today (8 May) and as birthday wishes were pouring in from all over the world, his Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) teammates Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik led the way and wished the pacer on his birthday.
“What's poppin bro? You know it's a special day. Just want to wish you a happy, happy birthday. No 1 Test bowler in the World for a reason,” Russell said in a video posted by KKR from their official Twitter handle.
While the explosive all-rounder kept it simple, Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik wished the pacer on his special day and hoped one day the right-arm quick would lead Australia as he has the skillsets required for that role.

“I think in KKR, we are very lucky to have a player like you. One of the best going around the world. Wish you a very very happy birthday. I genuinely wish you soon become an Australian captain. I think you have all the skill sets to do it. Wish you all the very best,” Karthik said.

Apart from the duo, KKR skipper Eoin Morgan also wished the Aussie pacer by saying, “Happy birthday boss” whereas opener Shubman Gill also wished the Cummins by saying, “Happy birthday.”
Cummins was recently seen in action in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) before it was indefinitely suspended after players and members of support staff tested positive inside team’s bio bubbles.
