"Thinking of my Indian friends," Shane Warne sends 'love and support' to COVID-19 hit India

Warne also urged people to stay home and stay safe.

There was a sudden spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in India. The country was one of the worst hit countries by this second wave of Coronavirus. There were positive cases inside IPL’s bio-bubbles as well causing BCCI and IPL governing council to cancel the league.

Former Australia spin bowler Shane Warne recently expressed his concern over the rising COVID-19 numbers in India amid this deadly second wave across the country.

The former Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper who was extremely saddened by the current situation, took to Twitter to send love and support towards his Indian friends.

Thinking of my Indian friends at this horrific time. Please be safe and look after yourself and your families, so sad what’s happening in your wonderful country. Sending love and support,” Warne wrote on Twitter.

India recorded 4,12,262 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, which is highest number of cases in a single day since the pandemic began. As many as 3,980 patients lost their lives to this virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, team India opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan took the first dose of COVID-19 on Thursday and urged everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible as it will help us defeat this virus.

Vaccinated. Cant thank all our frontline warriors enough for their sacrifices and dedication. Please do not hesitate and get yourself vaccinated as soon as possible. Itll help us all defeat this virus,” Dhawan wrote on Twitter.
