Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan said that his cricket academy will provide free meals to people affected by the COVID-19 in South Delhi.
India is undergoing a severe health crisis at the moment with the second wave of COVID-19 wreaking havoc across the country.
There are over 30 lakh COVID-19 cases in India with the situation getting worse day by day causing a medical emergency in the country. The fatality rate has also increased a lot compared to last year.
In the past few days, Delhi has emerged as one of the worst Covid-19 hit states of India as the infected rate has reached up to 30% with many people struggling to find hospital beds, oxygen, and other basic medical essentials.
With the second wave of coronavirus raging havoc across the country many cricketers including Pat Cummins, Brett Lee, Sheldon Jackson and Shreevats Goswami, Nicholas Pooran and Shikhar Dhawan have come forward to help the country in these tough times.

The latest entry in the list is former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan. The southpaw took to his Twitter account and declared that his cricket academy will provide free meals to people affected by the coronavirus in south Delhi.
“While the nation is in the midst of the second wave of COVID-19, it becomes our responsibility to come together and assist the people in need. Taking inspiration from the same, Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) is going to provide free meals to COVID-19 affected people in South Delhi,” Irfan Pathan Tweeted.
Irfan Pathan however, along with his brother and former Indian batsman Yusuf Pathan contracted the virus in March, after playing in the Road Safety World Series tournament.
